It's aliiiiiiiiive! Cap-and-Trade, that is.
Oh sure, if you asked leading Democrats, they'd tell you that "Cap-and-Trade" is not on their agendas anymore. And for good reason: As a policy, it was job-killing, minimally effective and wildly unpopular. So, what do Democrats do when one of their policies is wildly unpopular? Do they listen to the masses and abandon their foolhardy ways?
Of course not. They rebrand it and try to sell it again. Thus, we meet President Obama's new "Clean Energy" standard. Kimberly Strassel, writing in the Wall Street Journal, fills us in:
...Mr. Obama has no intention of letting go of his carbon-free world. He instead went to plan B. Specifically, he called in his speech for the nation to "join" him in a "new goal: by 2035, 80% of America's electricity will come from clean energy sources." What the president was in essence calling for—in happier, fuzzier, broader language—is what policy wonks refer to as a "renewable portfolio standard." This is a government mandate requiring that utilities produce annually a specific amount of their electricity from renewable sources—wind, solar, biofuels.
It's also Cap and Trade by another name. Consider: The goal of Cap and Trade is to impose crushing taxes on fossil fuels—oil, coal, natural gas—thereby forcing utilities to switch to costly renewables. Under Mr. Obama's new proposal, the government skips the tax part and outright requires the use of costly renewables. The result is the same: dramatically higher energy prices, from carbon-free sources. Now you know why even climate warrior John Kerry was so sanguine about the president's failure to say "climate change" in his speech. "I'm very sympathetic," said the Massachusetts senator, who clearly got the strategy memo.
Got that everyone? Obama's new "Clean Energy" standard is just the same old job-killing, economy-stagnating policy we've heard from Democrat after Democrat over the last 22 years.
This is precisely the same phenomenon that struck down "climate change" and "global warming." The Radical Greens yell and scream that the sky is falling, and eventually, rational people grow weary of it. So, to frighten more people to support the Radical Green Agenda, they rename the movement, redefine the problem and the consequences, but sell us the same baloney. And eventually, rational people catch on again. What President Obama and the Democrats are hoping is that you and your fellow voters follow them blindly and irrationally into financial ruin. Don't let them.
Most Egregious Claim of the Week
Oh Al Gore. We really don't like giving you the Most Egregious tag every week. It seems unfair to pile these dishonors on to you week after week when there are so many other Radical Greens spewing nonsense.
But then you say this:
Last week on his show Bill O’Reilly asked, “Why has southern New York turned into the tundra?” and then said he had a call into me. I appreciate the question.
As it turns out, the scientific community has been addressing this particular question for some time now and they say that increased heavy snowfalls are completely consistent with what they have been predicting as a consequence of man-made global warming."
Of course, last year, they blamed the lack of snow on Global Warming.
And the IPCC told us just the opposite of what Gore claims in 2007.
And ten years ago the headline was pretty clear: "Snowfalls Are Now Just a Thing of the Past."
But...we guess that's the thing about climate change. It covers anything and everything that can happen. It's a nice racket. They can never be wrong.
Except about everything.

Run Harry Run!
The finale decision to run for Political Office are in the late stages. A Political Action Committee has been formed to explore this campaign to give the power to govern back to the people.
As you know, my thoughts have been one that consistently reflects a firm belief that allowing you to keep more of your hard earned money is best. One of the best ways to improve our economy is to force the state and federal governments to spend less by restricting how much they can take from you.
My campaign will continue to assert my conservative beliefs and stand up for Tennessee values in order to fight against big government spending, socialized medicine, and cap-and-trade.
For the sake of Tennesse's families and America's future, it's imperative that we come together. These 2010 elections will be the most important election that we will have in a generation.
The Harry Lane Campaign has now shifted into Over-Drive!
Harry is exposing the liberal arrogance and hypocrisy of the push for Left-Wing, Radical agenda.
A Moratorium on Earmarks needs to be put in place now. My campaign calls for House Republicans to implement a one-year moratorium on earmark requests by Republican members, stating that:
"Out of control earmarks are a symptom of our larger inability to balance state and federal budgets. We cannot wait any longer to control spending. We need to come together as a party for the people and take a stand for fiscal responsibility," stated Harry Lane.
Harry Lane has a proven track record of opposing excessive government spending.
Harry firmly believes our state and federal governments have been distracted from what should be its No. 1 priority right now, jobs, jobs, jobs! A $15 billion measure in the House would give employers an exemption from their 6.2 percent Social Security payroll contribution for every new employee hired through the rest of the year, so long as that employee had been out of work for at least 60 days.
It is critically important that all arms of government focus on getting Americans back to work, I just think that this bill will help. "I think we can help small businesses with real and permanent relief that they can count on.”
We must end this period of Fiscal Insanity and bring back an era of budget transparently and fiscal responsibility.
Harry Is Running To Win!

THE AMERICAN MOTORIST VOTE CAMPAIGN NEWSLETTER
"The Road Back To Prosperity Car Care"
The thing that Harry Douglas has been dedicating plenty of time to on Car Concerns Radio, now Nationally Syndicated, is to helping the Nation's American Motorist with hard-times as they cope with lay-offs and unemployment.
We at the American Motorist Vote Campaign are working hard and tirelessly to have a series of "Road Back To Prosperity Auto Clinics" that will offer absolutely Free Car Care to those in need. It is important that they have a good running vehicle as many will be out hunting that next job in 2010.
So what we are looking for is corporation's and independent company's that will participate with not only funding, but services and parts as well. We need automotive technician's, service writers, service managers, as well as parts managers.
Of course we wish that we could wave a Magic Wand and make the money appear to undertake this massive task. If everyone who depends on their automobile for their lively-hoods would contribute what they can afford then we could help the needy and unemployed to attend the "Road Back To Prosperity Auto Clinics" as needed.
Through several of the Auto Manufactures I have secured several closed New Car Dealerships service departments to hold the "Road Back To Prosperity Auto Clinics."
We at the American Motorist Vote Campaign feels so passionate that this is the way that we can Get America Going once again. Think of the single parent that wanted to go work this morning and went to get in the car this morning and it just would not start. Maybe what was needed was something as simple as a new battery or starter. Maybe the exhaust system fell off finally on the way home last evening. It could be something as
critical as a new set of tires or some new brake pads. www.americanmotoristvote.com
Do you understand how important that this is? If we want the American Motorist to come back strong as a Consumer then we have to get them back in the great American Work-Force. If you agree then Join & Contribute @ www.americanmotorisvote.com
The sooner, the better! Email Harry and tell him what service you can offer: harry@carconcerns.com

Fired Up And Ready To Roll!
As the 2010 Mid-Tern Elections draws closer and closer and with Congress and Senator's going neck-and-neck right down to the wire. I do believe that the election will see a shift in the way we are governed. But with that said will we end up with a leaders who have real vision to lead into the future? Or are we destine to have more of the poor decision making that has got us in a real crack in 2009?
Just like in 2000 where a few malfunctioning Chad's in Florida decoded the outcome and a 2004 Presidential election that was nothing but corrupt, we cannot afford to get it wrong this time. Sitting on your back-side and not exercising your Constitutional Right to vote will to me be an act of a traitor to the United States of America.
As my first Grandchild is about to turn one year old, I have to step back and observe the conditions and circumstances that we now are faced with not only as American Motorist, but as Americans trying to make our way in a World that is corrupt, violent, and way off track. The World has changed with a vengeance and seems incapable of taking affective action to correct course. There have been intrinsic weakness in all levels of our government as there has been a turn from "We The People" to "I Am The People."
How did we stray so far from the mastery of basic standards? What's necessary to get us back on track?
As for myself I have made a decision to be passive no more. Not one of us can no longer make the choice to sit on the side lines and watch the tidal wave of despair roll across this great country of ours. We must fight!
Our borders must be protected and the battles that we are involved in countries on the other side of the Earth must be handled and come to an end. Humanity and the common sense touch must come into play.
Our future hangs in the balance as well as the American Way Of Life. Will you join me to bring back a decent way of life. One where we and our children can be proud of our American heritage.

The Following is a Letter to Fox News:
Greg,
Watch your show all the time. Good job.
I do a radio talk show myself out of Knoxville, TN. For over 25 years I was an Award Winning New Car Dealer. I sold out my interest in the Dealerships in 2001.
Long story short, out of the Car Business for good, I now do a Monday-Friday radio talk show called, Car Concerns. I do my best to give back to the very group that I took advantage of for over two & a half decades, the Retail Automotive Consumers. Being a Dealer myself I do not wonder why the sales numbers in the U.S. have dropped from 17.1 million in 2005 to just over 10 million in 2008. The numbers look bleaker this year.
Yes, there is a Credit Crisis brought on by the collapse of Wall Street back in the fall of 2008. Unemployment of American workers by the millions doesn't do any good, but car sales were way off track way before 2008.
Here is what I see and hear the Retail Automotive Consumer doing at this time...REVOLTING! I hear them everyday on my show, "Harry, we hate to go the Dealership and be treated like Morons without brains." They are insulted by the way they are treated at every turn of the Retail Automotive Experience from the time they walk on the show floor until the moment they exit the finance office with contract-in-hand that details the Financial Raping that they were just a victim to.
The Internet and shows like mine have educated these folks to the point where they would rather drive their present vehicle longer just to avoid the process. Until Detroit and all the other manufactures figure out that it is not their product that is keeping them away, it is the whole outdated Retail Automotive Experience itself. Auto Manufacturers have been delivering their product the same way since Henry Ford started selling Model T's. The Retail Automotive Consumer is over it. There gone and they won't be back until it is fixed. (I drive the New Manufactures products all the time as a member of the Press Car Allocation)
On my Friday and Saturday show I had General Motors executive sit in the studio LIVE with me. He and I did a total of five hours of broadcasting. During one of the breaks on Saturday I told Jim what I thought the real problem with sales were. I invited him that when he got back to the General Motors World Headquarters at the Renaissance Center to gather up some G.M. executives and just listen to Car Concerns via the Internet Stream and LISTEN TO WHAT RETAIL AUTOMOTIVE CONSUMERS are really thinking and saying about their next vehicle purchase. Yes, they would rather go to the Dentist and get a couple of teeth pulled.
This, among other reasons is why I started the American Motorist Vote Campaign. To give the Retail Automotive Consumer a voice, to "LET THEIR ENGINES ROAR" if you will. The Retail Automotive Consumer's of America are the largest "BIG TICKET" consumer group in the land. Think about it. They purchase the vehicle, they pay a sales tax on the vehicle, they buy gasoline to fuel the vehicle, they buy auto insurance to protect the vehicle, they do auto repair when they dent the vehicle, they buy tires and other services like oil changes, tune-ups, tires. You name it and the American Motorist are spending their money on their vehicle which is "TURNING THE WHEELS OF COMMERCE IN AMERICA." Like I say on Car Concerns, "when the American Motorist of this Country stop spending then the whole economy comes to a sudden, fatal stop. This is exactly what is happening now. The Retail Automotive Consumer now knows that "CASH IS KING" and they are holding on to it like never before and will continue to do so until things at the retail end change.
If you could so kindly plug the American Motorist Vote Campaign for all of the millions-upon-millions of American Motorist out there that are your viewers and my listeners it would be appreciated.
